- Represents clients in federal and state court in a variety of matters, including complex commercial litigation and white collar defense.
Ilana represents individuals, investment funds, financial institutions and public and private companies in sensitive internal investigations and high-stakes white collar defense matters involving criminal and regulatory issues. She also has strong experience in conducting internal investigations involving public companies and other organizations.
Prior to joining Akin, Ilana was an associate at a law firm based in New York City. She previously served as an assistant district attorney for the Kings County District Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn and as a senior attorney in the Office of General Counsel of a law firm based in New York City.
Ilana is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School where she served as an editor of the University of Pennsylvania Law Review.
- Represented the special litigation committee of a Fortune 500, public corporation in connection with a derivative shareholder action in New York state court.
- Represented a nonprofit organization in defending and prosecuting claims involving intellectual property against an Ivy League university in the Southern District of New York.
- Represented several directors & officers of a public corporation and advised on corporate governance issues, successfully opposing a temporary restraining order (TRO).
- Represented a privately held tax preparation and financial technology company in connection with antitrust allegations.
