Jasem is a senior counsel in Akin’s corporate department, based in the Riyadh office. He is a trusted advisor to private & public clients on complex mergers & acquisitions (M&A) and private equity (PE) transactions in the Middle East and North Africa.
He has successfully represented a diverse range of clients, including corporate entities, private equity firms, sovereign wealth funds (SWFs) and venture capital (VC) investors. Jasem’s practice encompasses transactions and deals involving key government stakeholders, sponsors, developers and investors.
Clients rely on Jasem for his strategic counsel and comprehensive advice in handling a variety of transactions such as acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures (JVs) and investments spanning multiple sectors across Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and the wider Middle East region.
Prior to relocating to the Middle East in 2019, Jasem’s legal training and previous practice took place in the London office of another leading international law firm.
- Advised Waseel Partners on its joint venture in KSA with Fawry, Egypt's leading fintech platform.
- Represented Al Jomaih Water and Energy Company on the purchase of a minority stake in Shuqaiq Water and Electricity IWPP from ACWA Power.
- Advised Bindawood Holding Company on the acquisition of Zahrat Al Rawdah Pharmacies with over 200 pharmacies in Saudi Arabia from Julphar.
- Advised Cognita on its strategic partnerships with King’s College Riyadh and Downe House Riyadh.
- Representing Lucid LLC on its various corporate matters in KSA.
