- Counsels clients on a broad array of investment management matters in connection with private equity funds, credit funds, venture capital funds, small business investment companies (SBICs) and hedge funds.
- Guides clients through the regulatory and compliance obligations of their businesses.
Jennifer represents private fund managers, sponsors and other market participants on the formation, structuring and ongoing operation of various private investment fund vehicles. She works closely with fund managers on partnership agreements, private placement memorandums, general partner agreements and offering documents, as well as compliance obligations such as Form ADV, Form D and state blue sky filings. Jennifer also represents institutional investors in connection with their negotiations and investments in private funds.
In addition, Jennifer leverages her experience in her pro bono practice representing small businesses in their contact negotiations and corporate governance.
Prior to joining Akin, Jennifer was an associate at a national law firm, where she worked on investment management matters for investment advisors, high-net-worth individuals, banks and institutional investors.
Jennifer received her J.D. cum laude from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where she received a Dean's Merit Scholarship and the Cardozo Service and Achievement Award. Jennifer served as a business manager and staff editor of the Cardozo Law Review. She earned her B.A. in political science, with a minor in writing, from the University of Michigan.
