John advises clients on U.S. international trade and national security regulatory matters, including in connection with economic sanctions, export controls, and foreign agent laws, before the U.S. Departments of Justice, Treasury, and Commerce. John also assists in criminal and internal investigations involving international trade and national security matters.

John earned his J.D. from the University of California, Berkley School of Law, where he served as the books and research editor of the Ecology Law Quarterly. 

Before attending law school, John worked in journalism and finance and as a high school teacher.
