- Advises and assists on the structuring, establishment and promotion of all types of collective investment schemes.
Jordan’s private funds experience includes advising on the structuring and establishment of offshore and onshore hedge funds, private equity funds and other alternatives, utilising various Cayman and Hong Kong structures.
Jordan’s retail funds experience includes representing international and local fund houses in obtaining Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) and Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority approval for their funds. He also assists with post-authorisation and regulatory issues, including fund restructuring and scheme changes.
Prior to joining Akin Gump, Jordan was a registered foreign lawyer in the investment funds group of Hong Kong’s largest independent law firm.
Private Funds*
- Advised and assisted People’s Republic of China (PRC), Hong Kong and regional fund managers and financial institutions with the establishment of various private open-ended and closed-ended funds.
- Advised and assisted various fund managers in the restructuring and update of their Cayman funds pursuant to the Cayman economic substance law and the Cayman data protection requirements.
Retail Funds*
- Advised and assisted global asset managers on the structuring, establishment and regulatory approval of their Hong Kong retail funds, and assisted and advised on scheme updates and regulatory matters.
