Lauren represents clients across multiple industries in complex commercial matters at all stages of litigation, with an emphasis on representing businesses and individuals in consumer technology, product defect, false advertising, unfair competition and consumer fraud class actions.
Lauren received her J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Law, where she was recognized with several awards and honors, including being elected to the Order of the Coif.
- Defending a nationwide class action for a multinational consumer electronics company alleging violations of the California Invasion of Privacy Act, the Electronic Communications Privacy Act, as well as the Justice Department’s newly enacted Bulk Data Transfer Rule.
- Representing Epic Systems Corporation and prominent health systems, alleging widespread fraud in the defendants' collection and use of sensitive patient medical records.
- Representing a San Francisco-based renewable energy company in a complex buyout and valuation dispute in California state court alleging breaches of contract and fiduciary duties arising from the improper diversion of business opportunities and the misappropriation of company data and proprietary information.
- Representing Grain Belt Express Holdings LLC in an action in New York Supreme Court against Invenergy Transmission LLC involving an $80 million dispute over the alleged violation of a restrictive covenant in connection with the development of a competing energy transmission project.
- Defending Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling, L.L.C., a major manufacturer and distributor, in novel government enforcement action in California state court alleging claims arising from the recyclability of certain plastic products.
- Defended 818 Tequila and Calabasas Beverage Company in putative nationwide class action in Florida federal court alleging fraudulent misrepresentations that touch on international and federal law.
- Defeated multi-state putative class action filed in federal court in New York against SportsEngine, then owned by NBCUniversal, alleging fraud and contract claims arising from charges paid by consumers nationwide.
- Represented a business partner in a long-term real estate joint venture in a breach of fiduciary duty arbitration proceeding, substantially prevailing on all claims.
