Maria represents private equity sponsors and public and private companies in a broad range of mergers & acquisitions, investments, divestitures and other complex corporate transactions. She also advises clients on general corporate and governance matters.

Prior to joining Akin, Maria served as in-house counsel for Blackstone, where she advised on transactions for Blackstone’s Tactical Opportunities fund. Before that, Maria was an associate at another leading global law firm in New York City, where she advised issuers and public companies with respect to capital markets transactions and securities regulation.
