- Advises sponsors, investors, lenders and developers on project and corporate finance transactions across the energy & infrastructure sector.
Marie focuses her practice on project finance for renewable energy, battery storage, data centers and other infrastructure projects. She advises clients on all aspects of project development and financing, including structuring, due diligence and negotiation of complex transaction documents. Her experience spans commercial and syndicated loans, private placements, tax equity and other innovative financing structures.
Prior to joining Akin, Marie served as senior legal counsel at Trajectory Energy Partners, where she managed due diligence processes and corporate contracts for community solar projects. She also practiced as a project finance associate at other leading global and New York-based law firms.
Marie received her J.D. cum laude from Fordham University School of Law, where she served as an associate editor on the Fordham International Law Journal and a research fellow for the Fordham Center on Law and Information Policy. She earned her B.F.A. from New York University.

Represented Vineyard Wind in its $2.3 billion financing for the company’s first offshore wind farm, Vineyard Wind 1.

Represented RAD Energy Solutions in the $200 million acquisition and financing of a portfolio deploying 32.85 megawatts (MW) of Bloom Energy fuel cells for commercial and industrial customers.

Represented CIT, Rabobank and Siemens Financial Services in the $93.3 million debt financing for Key Capture Energy’s 230 MW portfolio of battery energy storage systems in Texas.

Represented Ullico Infrastructure Fund in its acquisition of a 35% interest in the Southland portfolio of combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) and standalone battery storage projects from AES.

Represented AustralianSuper, CPPIB and UniSuper in an aggregate equity investment of approximately $2.1 billion in Transurban Chesapeake, including major express lane assets and development projects in the Greater Washington area.

Advised Clearway Energy on the construction financing of the 419 MW Mesquite Star wind farm and the $381 million repowering of two wind farms in Texas.

Represented Orsted Onshore North America as sponsor in the tax equity financing of the Sage Draw wind project in Texas.

Represented sponsors in the debt and tax equity financing and hedging arrangements for the 336 MW Escalade Wind Project in Texas.
