Mark is an associate in the firm’s international trade practice. He advises clients on a range of international trade matters, including tariff mitigation strategies, export controls and trade remedies disputes. Prior to joining Akin, Mark was an international trade associate at another leading global law firm in Washington, DC, where he advised on a wide range of trade matters including tariffs, export controls and sanctions, outbound investment and trade remedies.
Mark received his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, where he was a top oralist for the Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. He also holds a B.S.F.S. in international political economy from Georgetown University, Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service, and an honors certificate in international business diplomacy.
Before his legal career, Mark served as a trade policy researcher for intellectual property at the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) in Washington, DC. During his tenure, he was recognized with the 2019 USTR "Way to Go" Award for his work on China trade secrets issues.
