- Former attorney-advisor with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), where he also served as a U.S. delegate to the World Customs Organization (WCO).
Michael is an associate in the international trade practice, where he advises clients on a range of international trade matters. Prior to joining Akin, Michael served as an attorney-advisor at the Regulations and Rulings Directorate of U.S. Customs and Border Protection in Washington, D.C., where he provided guidance on tariff classification and served as a U.S. delegate to the World Customs Organization's Harmonized System Review Sub-Committee. Michael also worked as a student attorney with the Entrepreneurship Law Clinic at American University Washington College of Law and as a legal intern at the Montgomery County Office of the State's Attorney in Maryland.
Michael received his J.D. from American University Washington College of Law, where he was senior articles editor for the American University International Law Review and senior staffer for the National Security Law Brief. He also holds an M.A. in international affairs from American University and a B.A. in political science from Miami University of Ohio.
