Nicole Shields is an associate in Akin’s investment management practice, based in the firm’s New York office. She advises fund managers on the formation, structuring and ongoing operations of private investment vehicles, including private equity, credit, venture capital and hedge funds. Her work also includes guiding clients through complex regulatory frameworks to ensure compliance and strategic execution.
Before attending law school, Nicole worked in the investment management industry, focusing on marketing, business development and investor relations.
Nicole earned her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, where she served on the Fordham Journal of Corporate and Financial Law and competed as a member of the Brendan Moore Trial Advocacy Team. She was also actively involved in Fordham Law Women and the Non-Traditional Law Student Association. She holds a B.A. from Stanford University.
