Paul advises clients on complex tax matters relating to private investment funds, tax-free reorganizations, mergers & acquisitions, cross-border transactions, real estate transactions and restructurings.
Prior to joining Akin, Paul served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Thomas B. Wells and the Honorable Daniel A. Guy of the United States Tax Court in Washington, D.C., before working as a tax associate at a law firm based in New York.
Paul received his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, where he was an executive articles editor for the Brooklyn Journal of Corporate Financial & Commercial Law and received the Martin R. Press Prize for excellence in the field of taxation. Paul holds a B.S. in business administration from The Pennsylvania State University and is currently a candidate for an LL.M. in taxation from New York University School of Law.
