Biography
  • Advises clients on the structuring, formation and ongoing operation of alternative investment funds, including domestic and offshore hedge funds employing both traditional and specialised strategies.
  • Advises clients on ongoing regulatory obligations, including in connection with the establishment of the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD).

Robyn has advised a range of clients across Europe, the UK and the U.S., including asset managers, hedge funds and fund managers of varying size.

Prior to joining Akin, Robyn trained as a solicitor at another large international law firm, where she qualified into their investment funds practice.

Representative Work
  • Advised a large US hedge fund manager on the formation of their first Irish Collective Asset-management Vehicle and the authorisation of a qualifying investor alternative investment fund employing an alpha strategy.
  • Advised a large global asset manager on the establishment and formation of a professional investor European Long-Term Investment Fund (ELTIF).
  • Assisted with the provision of advice to an alternative investment fund manager in respect of their regulatory obligations in connection with the establishment of a wide range of AIFMD passported alternative investment funds with a range of strategies including equity, property, infrastructure, fixed income, multi asset strategies as well as quantitative hedge fund strategies.
