Rom is an associate in the firm’s tax practice, assisting clients with a range of tax issues, including partnership and corporate tax matters.

Prior to joining Akin, he interned with the legal department of a leading global infrastructure company in Houston and served as a judicial intern for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas in Dallas. Before law school, Rom worked as a budget analyst for the Legislative Budget Board in Austin, where he evaluated fiscal and performance measures for state agencies.

Rom earned his J.D. from SMU Dedman School of Law, where he served as an article editor for the SMU Law Review Association and was vice president of the Jewish Law Student Association. He also participated in the Business Law Leadership Program. Rom holds a B.A. in economics from the University of Texas at Austin, where he minored in business administration and finance.
