Ruby Tam is an associate in Akin's Hong Kong office.

  • Focuses on restructuring matters in Asia and has experience advising clients in contentious disputes, including international arbitration and complex commercial litigation.
  • Represents clients on private and public cross-border debt transactions.
Representative Work
  • Advising an ad hoc group of lenders in the Chapter 11 cases of Marelli, a Japan-based multinational automotive supplier, involving $4.9 billion in liabilities.
  • Advising an ad hoc committee of holders of the US$175m bonds issued by SriLankan Airlines Ltd and guaranteed by the Government of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
  • Advising an ad hoc group of noteholders in relation to a restructuring of over US$1.5 billion of liabilities in Noble Group’s commodities trading business.
  • A Malaysian conglomerate in its dispute with a PRC automobile company arising from various joint venture agreements governed by PRC law. The disputed sum is in excess of USD 100 million.
  • A Chinese software company in an ICC and a SIAC arbitration in relation to an online gaming IP licensing dispute. The disputed sum is in excess of RMB 200 million.
