- Advises U.S. and international clients on various international trade law matters, including U.S. economic sanctions and export controls.
Spencer is an associate in the firm’s international trade practice, assisting clients with a variety of international trade matters, including export controls, economic sanctions and Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) reviews.
Spencer earned his J.D. from William & Mary Law School, where he served as editor-in-chief of the William & Mary Business Law Review and was a legal practice fellow for the legal writing department. He holds a B.A. in psychology with a minor in education from Bates College.
Earlier in his career, Spencer worked as a litigation paralegal at a boutique in Boston and later as an operations manager at a financial services company.
Spencer was a member of Akin’s 2024 summer associate class.
