Biography

Tadhg is a dual-qualified corporate finance associate, admitted in England and Wales and Ireland. He advises private equity sponsors, their portfolio companies, financial institutions and alternative capital providers on a broad range of domestic and cross-border financing transactions.

He has experience across leveraged finance, acquisition finance, private credit, fund finance, real estate finance, corporate lending and financial restructurings. He regularly advises on the structuring, negotiation and execution of financing arrangements for acquisitions, refinancings, recapitalisations and general corporate purposes.

Prior to joining Akin, Tadhg trained and qualified at a leading Irish law firm before working in the London office of another leading U.S. law firm.

Representative Work

Leveraged Finance and Private Equity

  • Advised a number of mid-market private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies on acquisition financings and refinancings across a range of sectors.
  • Advised a private equity sponsor on the financing arrangements supporting the acquisition of a U.K.-based environmental, health and safety compliance business.
  • Advised a private equity sponsor on amendments to existing financing arrangements to support a strategic bolt-on acquisition in Europe.
  • Advised a private equity sponsor on the refinancing of debt facilities in connection with an investment in a specialist care and supported living business.
  • Advised on a multi-jurisdictional leveraged refinancing and shareholder liquidity transaction.

Restructuring and Special Situations

  • Advised borrowers and lenders on financial restructurings and distressed situations across a range of sectors.
  • Advised a U.K.-based aerospace business on the restructuring of its debt facilities.

Fund Finance

  • Advised an alternative asset manager on a net asset value (NAV) financing for a flagship credit fund involving a multi-billion dollar revolving credit facility.
