Alexander Specht focuses his work on the U.S. federal tax aspects of domestic and cross-border financial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and partnerships. Mr. Specht regularly advises corporate and fund clients on matters related to the structuring of investments and operations within and outside the U.S.

Practice & Background

Prior to joining Akin Gump, Mr. Specht was an associate at an international law firm in New York, where he focused on the U.S. federal tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions, bank finance transactions and capital markets transactions.

Mr. Specht received his J.D. cum laude in 2008 from American University, Washington College of Law, where he was an articles editor of the American University Law Review, and his B.A. in Economics-Political Science in 2003 from Columbia University.
