Akin Gump Brings Home “International Firm of the Year” at The Lawyer Awards

(London) –Akin Gump is pleased to announce that it was named International Firm of the Year at The Lawyer Awards, held in London on June 23. The Lawyer Awards “celebrate excellence across private practice, the public sector, commerce and industry, and the Bar.”

The award recognizes the firm’s “transformational year,” as Akin Gump brought over Bingham McCutchen’s esteemed group of London practitioners in Europe’s largest-ever team move, thereby doubling the size of Akin Gump’s London operations and, more notably, creating “arguably the world’s most significant cross-border financial restructuring practice.”

In April, Financial News honored Akin Gump London senior partner and former Bingham office head James Roome with its Editor’s Choice Award for his role in bringing the team to Akin Gump. (Learn more here.)
