Akin Gump Receives 2021 Gold Standard Certification from Women in Law Empowerment Forum

(Washington, D.C.) – Akin Gump is pleased to announce it has been awarded 2021 Gold Standard Certification by the Women in Law Empowerment Forum (WILEF).

WILEF grants Gold Standard status to law firms that meet objective criteria concerning the number of women among equity partners, in firm leadership positions and in the ranks of their most highly compensated partners.

To achieve Gold Standard Certification this year, firms must have shown that 25 percent of equity partners or 40 percent of the attorneys becoming equity partners during the preceding 12 months are women. In addition, either 10 percent of women equity partners must be women of color or 4 percent of women equity partners must be LGBT. Further criteria included meeting certain benchmarks with respect to office leadership positions and firm governance committee members.
