Akin Gump Receives Excellence in Pro Bono Award from Law Society
(London) – Akin Gump has been recognized with the Excellence in Pro Bono award at the Law Society Awards 2021, which recognizes excellence “across 20 categories at the most prestigious awards ceremony for solicitors in England and Wales.”
According to the Society, Akin Gump was awarded this honor for its collaboration with other global law firms to achieve lasting and dramatic change through their combined “expertise and resources to provide pro bono assistance on a large scale to help Asylum Aid deal with statelessness within the UK.” Akin Gump pro bono partner Steve Schulman, along with the other award winners, were featured in a recognition video in which they discuss the initiative. On the recognition, Mr. Schulman, speaking on behalf of the honorees, said, "Asylum Aid and the consortium of law firms are delighted that this project has won the Law Society Excellence in Pro Bono Award.
