(Washington) – The Washington Post, in its annual Top Workplaces survey, reports that Akin Gump’s D.C. office has again been ranked by its employees as one of the capital area’s best places to work, also repeating as one of only two law firms among the 31 honorees.
The firm scored its second consecutive top 10 ranking in the Large Companies category through an anonymous survey administered by Energage and completed by employees that evaluated Akin Gump’s Washington office along 24 factors covering seven areas:
- Alignment — where the company is headed, its values, cooperation
- Effectiveness — doing things well, sharing different viewpoints, encouraging new ideas
- Connection — employees feel appreciated, their work is meaningful
- My manager — cares about concerns, helps me learn and grow
- Employee engagement — motivation, retention and referral
- Leader — confidence in company leadership
- The basics — pay, benefits, flexibility, training, expectations
Akin Gump D.C. partner in charge Anthony Pierce said of the result, “This repeat honor, coming just after we’ve debuted our beautiful new office, speaks to the success we’ve had in making our Washington office a place where people feel appreciated and respected. All this helps us every day to serve our clients better and build our community stronger.”
