(New York) – A team from Akin Gump has obtained an order of attachment in aid of arbitration on behalf of Moquinon Ltd. in New York Supreme Court in a case involving a Russian businessman and a $270 million promissory note signed in Vienna, Austria, in 2003.

The Akin Gump team, led by litigation partner Mitchell Hurley, asked the judge in the case to hold millions of dollars belonging to Alexander Gliklad in escrow pending arbitration between him and Moquinon. After hearing more than an hour of oral argument and reviewing lengthy briefs and affidavits in opposition, the court found that Moquinon was likely to succeed on its claims respecting the note, and granted the requested attachment.

Joining Mr. Hurley in the matter were counsel Rachel Presa and associates Kelly Eno and Nathaniel Botwinick.
