Alissa Miller Named to Los Angeles Times List of Legal Visionaries
(Los Angeles) – Akin Gump entertainment partner Alissa Miller has been selected as one of the Los Angeles Times’ Legal Visionaries for 2021. The list recognizes lawyers “for their contributions and leadership within their organizations, the legal field, and the community at large.”
Ms. Miller is noted as a leader in her field “for handling some of the industry’s highest-visibility deals between independent movie production companies and financial institutions and for her innovative media and entertainment-focused pro bono practice.” (Variety named her one of its Top Entertainment Dealmakers for 2020. Last year, the Times writes, Ms. Miller co-led Akin Gump’s cross-practice efforts to assist a coalition of more than two dozen independent production companies in seeking COVID-19 relief aid. In coordination with the firm’s public law and policy practice, she is spearheading an advocacy effort on behalf of the American Coalition for Independent Content Production (ACICP).
