Brian Sprague, chief operating office at Akin Gump, was one of the participants in the Gensler Design Exchange Podcast “The Future of the Law Firm Workplace (Re-broadcast): Pandemic Sets Precedent for Lawyers to Rethink Their Real Estate,” a recording of a recent panel discussion sponsored by DCA Live.

The conversation included a look at how design trends that have accelerated in the last year could have a lasting impact on some of the world’s leading law firms as well as their workforces and their design partners for many years to come.

Sprague first spoke about the return of workers to the firm’s offices, stating that Akin Gump will remain “flexible in the near term to try to meet people where they are” as it relates to issues such as school openings and childcare, for example.

Sprague also noted that, in the remote environment, Akin Gump “has had success in onboarding people…and integrating them.” Still, he pointed out that he continues to look forward to the times “when we can all see each other in person.”
