Akin Gump entertainment partner Christopher Spicer was quoted by China Daily for its article “Legendary CEO ousted,” on the departure of Legendary Pictures founder and CEO Thomas Tull, reportedly at the behest of Legendary’s new owners, Dalian Wanda Group.

The article notes that Wanda purchased Legendary for $3.5 billion in early 2016.

Spicer said, “Thomas Tull has a lot of other exciting companies to build in the digital space” and would not want for opportunities after his departure.
