David Botter Quoted in Am Law Article Spotlighting Legal Scoop Blog

Akin Gump hiring partner David Botter has been quoted in the American Lawyer article “New Akin Gump Blog Aims to School Big Law Recruits,” which reports on Akin Gump’s new Legal Scoop blog, designed to provide information to law students on relevant topics as they move through law school and embark on their legal careers.
Botter described the process of finding a job at a law firm as “mystifying, especially to those with no legal experience through family or friends.” He said the content found on the blog will come directly from those who have recently experienced the Big Law hiring process, including young associates and recent summer associates. Partners involved in making hiring decisions will also contribute.
As to what led to the decision to start the blog, Botter said, “The competition [for high performing law students] has always been really high. But I think the students are looking for a whole lot more information and transparency about the law firms and the business of law.”
