(Houston) – Akin Gump Houston partner in charge Christine LaFollette and oil and gas partner John Goodgame are noted by The Texas Lawbook as among the top dealmakers in Texas, according to the publication’s Corporate Deal Tracker.

Lawbook notes that Houston-based lawyers accounted for 55 percent of the Texas practitioners leading mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures in Texas last year, driven by energy industry activity.

Mr. Goodgame and Ms. LaFollette were both ranked among Houston’s top 10 M&A lawyers, with Chris LaFollette one of only two women in the top 20.

Both Ms. LaFollette and Mr. Goodgame were named, along with oil and gas partner Michael Byrd, to Houston Business Journal’s Who’s Who in Energy in December 2016 (learn more here). December also saw Ms. LaFollette honored as one of Texas Lawyer’s Top Women in Energy Law (learn more here).
