Kenneth Markowitz, an environmental consultant at Akin Gump, has been quoted in the USA Today article “How Trump’s energy order affects jobs, fuel prices,” regarding President Trump’s executive order reversing environmental regulations imposed during the Obama administration.

Markowitz spoke specifically about the impact on the wind and solar industries, saying that companies are not necessarily going to withdraw from alternative energy plans because of a regulatory shift. Many states, he pointed out, are also expected to challenge aspects of the Trump plan, setting the stage for what he described as a “legal mess.”

“Following through on a campaign promise will get splash and could over time be disruptive,” Markowitz said, but “the programs are hard to dismantle.”
