Marissa Román Griffith to Receive Outfest’s Jonathan Howard Legacy Award

(Los Angeles) – Akin Gump entertainment partner Marissa Román Griffith will be honored with the Jonathan Howard Legacy Award at the 2021 Outfest Legacy Awards gala, to be held at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on November 13. The award is in recognition of her outstanding leadership efforts as former Outfest board co-president, with the current co-president, during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Outfest is the leading organization showcasing, nurturing and preserving LGBTQIA+ stories and artistry.

Ms. Griffith advises clients in the financing, distribution and production of film, television and digital content. Those clients include domestic and global financial institutions, borrowers and distributors.

Earlier this year, The Hollywood Reporter named Ms. Griffith to its Power Lawyers, for the fifth time in a row, and Top Dealmakers lists (learn more here and here). She has also been recognized in Variety’s Legal Impact Report since 2013.
