Naomi Moore Recognized in GRR’s Debut “Women in Restructuring” Survey
(Hong Kong) – Akin Gump is pleased to announce that Hong Kong-based financial restructuring partner Naomi Moore has been selected by Global Restructuring Review as part of its inaugural “Women in Restructuring” survey of prominent practitioners in the field.
The published profile focuses on Moore’s career in restructuring and insolvency work. She describes her introduction to the field as “I started my career as a commercial litigation lawyer in Australia, at an international law firm, and on my first day at work I was asked by a senior associate in the insolvency and restructuring group to assist him on a large litigation matter arising in the liquidation of a Bermudian reinsurance company. Shortly after that, he persuaded me to move to the insolvency and restructuring group and the rest is history.”
Ms. Moore notes her proudest professional moment as her award for Best in Insolvency and Restructuring at the Euromoney Legal Media Group Asia Women in Business Law Awards in 2016 (learn more here), and her most important case as her representation of the steering committee of noteholders in the restructuring of US$309 million of notes issued by Winsway Enterprises Holding Limited. Akin Gump was a finalist for “Finance Deal of the Year: Restructuring & Insolvency” at the Asia Legal Awards 2017 for this work.
She also says that “we have clients to thank” for greater gender equality in the workplace by “increasingly requesting diversity-related data in RFPs and generally making law firms more accountable in that regard.”
