Rubén Muñoz Named a Minority Business Leader by Philadelphia Business Journal

(Philadelphia) – Philadelphia Business Journal has named Rubén Muñoz, partner in charge of Akin Gump’s Philadelphia office, a 2019 Minority Business Leader. Now in its 11th year, the Minority Business Leader Awards recognize 25 of the “region's top minority business leaders based on demonstrated business success over the past 12 to 18 months.”
Mr. Muñoz was honored, along with the other leaders recognized, at an awards reception in Philadelphia on August 15.
Philadelphia Business Journal published a profile Q&A of Mr. Muñoz, along with those of the other honorees.
Among the questions posed to him was, what makes him excited to come to work? He said, “[T]he challenge of achieving success for firm clients in intellectual property matters, where complex issues arise at the intersection of law and cutting-edge technology.”
Regarding the biggest issue facing minority businesspeople, he replied, “Biases. I can say with certainty, based on my own experience, that America is the land of opportunity. We must ensure that the opportunity remains the same for everyone.”
Mr. Muñoz was named partner in charge of the firm’s Philadelphia office in April of this year. More information can be found here.
