On June 9, 2023 BIS issued a Denial Order against Thomas Harris, Jr. ("Respondent") for a period of 10 years in relation to violations of 18 U.S.C. § 554(a). The order went into effect on the Respondent's date of conviction on March 1, 2022. Specifically, the Respondent was convicted of smuggling and attempting to smuggle 14 firearms from the United States to Saint Lucia. As a result of his conviction, the Court sentenced the Respondent to 46 months of confinement, three years of supervised release and a $1,500 assessment.

Under the Decree of the President of Ukraine “On Decision of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine of 11 June 2023 “On Application of and Amendments to Personal Special Economic Sanctions and Other Restrictive Measures (Sanctions)” No. 321/2023, dated 11 June 2023, different types of sanctions were applied to 178 individuals.

OFAC designated a network of seven individuals and six entities in Iran, the People's Republic of China (PRC), and Hong Kong in connection with Iran’s ballistic missile program, pursuant to EO 13382. This network has allegedly conducted financial transactions and facilitated procurement of sensitive and critical parts and technology for key actors in Iran’s ballistic missile development. OFAC also designated Iran's Defense Attaché in Beijing, who has allegedly coordinated military-related procurements from the PRC for Iranian end-users.

OFAC designated seven entities and six individuals based in the PRC and one entity and three individuals based in Mexico, involved in the international proliferation of equipment used to produce illicit drugs, pursuant to EO 14059. These parties are allegedly involved in the sale of pill press machines, die molds, and other equipment used to impress counterfeit trade markings of legitimate pharmaceuticals onto illicitly produced pills, often laced with fentanyl, that are frequently destined for U.S. markets.
