- 20 Mar 2024 - Michael David Mummert - Denial Order; No monetary penalty
On March 20, 2024, BIS issued a Denial Order against Michael David Mummert ("Respondent") for a period of 10 years in relation to violations of 50 U.S.C. 4819. The order went into effect on the Respondent's date of conviction on November 29, 2022. Specifically, the Respondent was convicted of attempting to smuggle firearms and firearm parts from the United States to Mexico. The Respondent was sentenced to 36 months in prison, three years of supervised release, and a $100 special assessment adn $10,000 fine. BIS did not impose any further monetary penalty on Respondent beyond the Court-imposed penalty.
- 20 Mar 2024 - Juan Jose Roque - Denial Order; No monetary penalty
On March 20, 2024, BIS issued a Denial Order against Juan Jose Roque ("Respondent") for a period of 10 years in relation to violations of 50 U.S.C. 4819. The order went into effect on the Respondent's date of conviction on August 29, 2023. Specifically, the Respondent was convicted of smuggling from the United States to Mexico, 12,800 rounds of 7.62 x 39mm ammunition, 150 rounds of 38 Special ammunition 60 rounds of .223 caliber ammunition and one Stoeger Cougar 9mm pistol from the United States to Mexico. The Respondent was sentenced to 46 months in prison and a $100 special assessment. BIS did not impose any further monetary penalty on Respondent beyond the Court-imposed penalty.
- 20 Mar 2024 - Niloufar Bahadorifar - Denial Order; No monetary penalty
On March 20, 2024, BIS issued a Denial Order against Niloufar Bahadorifar ("Respondent") for a period of 10 years in relation to violations of 50 U.S.C. 4819. The order went into effect on the Respondent's date of conviction on April 7, 2023. Specifically, the Respondent was convicted of conspiring to provide services to Iran and the Government of Iran from the United States to Iran. The Respondent was sentenced to 48 months in prison, three years of supervised release, and a $200 special assessment. BIS did not impose any further monetary penalty on Respondent beyond the Court-imposed penalty.
