The OverRuled: Russia Trade Controls Resource Center has been updated with the following actions:

  • 27 Jun 2025 (OFAC):

    ​​The U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control ("OFAC") issued Russia-related General License ("GL"), 115B, "Authorizing Certain Transactions Related to Civil Nuclear Energy", and made technical/non-substantive edits to ten FAQs.

  • 18 Jun 2025 (UK):

    The Akin Summary document has now been posted for this action.

    The Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation ("OFSI") issued the "Art Market Participants and High Value Dealers Threat Assessment Report" (the "Assessment"), addressing threats to UK sanctions compliance faced by Art Market Participants ("AMPs") and High Value Dealers ("HVDs"). This Assessment is the fourth report in a series of sector-specific assessments issued by OFSI.

  • 17 Jun 2025 (UK):

    ​The Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation ("OFSI"), together with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office ("FCDO"), designated four individuals, six entities, and specified 20 vessels under the Russia sanctions regime, pursuant to the Russia (Sanctions) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019.

  • 16 Jun 2025 (EU):

    The Council of the European Union (the "Council") renewed the sanctions introduced by the EU in response to the illegal annexation of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol by Russia until June 23, 2026.

  • 12 Jun 2025 (UK):

    ​On June 12 and 13, 2025, the Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation ("OFSI") amended General Licence INT/2023/3263556 (the "GL"), pursuant to the Russia (Sanctions) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019 (the "Russia Regulations"). The GL allows payments and other permitted activities to take place in relation to insolvency proceedings associated with the GTLK Companies and their Subsidiaries.

  • 03 Jun 2025 (Switzerland):

    The Akin Summary document has now been posted for this action.

    ​Switzerland adopted most of the measures contained within the EU's 17th sanctions package targeting Russia of May 20, 2025.
