Akin Advises Intrum on its Sale of Joint Venture Interests to Brocc

Contact:
(London and New York) – Akin’s global capital solutions team advised Intrum AB, Europe’s largest provider of credit management services, on its entry into an agreement to sell its remaining 35% holding in its joint venture with Brocc Finance AB (“Brocc”), an affiliate of Cerberus Capital Management L.P.
The joint venture with Brocc holds portfolios of European loans, which will continue to be serviced by Intrum under the original 5-year servicing agreement that the Akin team also advised on in 2024. The agreed purchase price of circa. €215 million represents a realized gain for Intrum of circa. €45 million, based on the book value of €166 million as of the end of Q3 2025.
The transaction is subject to regulatory approval for Brocc as well as approval by Intrum’s RCF lenders and bondholders, with the transaction expected to close in H1 2026.
The Akin team assisted Intrum on all aspects of the transaction, and is the third transaction that the same Akin team have advised Intrum on in the past two years, having previously advised Intrum on its €3 billion investment partnership with Cerberus in 2025 and on its €1 billion asset sale in 2024.
The cross-practice team advising Intrum was led by capital solutions co-lead Ranesh Ramanathan and capital solutions counsel George Burt and included:
Capital Solutions
Partner Chris Parrott
Intellectual Property and Technology Transactions
Partner Natasha Ahmed
Tax
Partner Natasha Kaye and counsel Mohammed Natha
