Ashton Barrineau Butcher is a deal-focused M&A partner who advises strategic acquirers and private equity sponsors on complex, business critical transactions across a wide range of industries. She serves as lead deal counsel on acquisitions, dispositions, divestitures and reorganizations, bringing a commercially grounded, execution oriented approach that helps clients close efficiently, manage risk and advance their growth strategies.
Ashton represents clients across sectors including convenience retail, manufacturing, aggregates and building materials, technology, healthcare, financial services, media, retail and hospitality.
Her practice also includes advising boards and senior leadership on corporate governance and other general corporate matters that arise throughout the deal lifecycle.

- Advised Francisco Partners, a leading global investment firm that specializes in partnering with technology and technology-enabled businesses, on its growth investment and funding for the combination of legendary sheet music publisher Hal Leonard and Muse Group, an industry leader in music content and creation.
- Represented a sponsor in multiple aggregates mining acquisitions across the United States.
- Represented a fund in its acquisition of an industrial components manufacturer.
- Represented a fund in acquiring a wireless condition monitoring provider.
- Represented a fund in acquiring an indoor adventure park company.
