Braden is a trial and appellate lawyer who focuses on complex commercial cases in both federal and state courts. He has extensive experience managing all phases of litigation, from initial filing to final disposition and appeal. Braden excels in leading the drafting of complex briefs and motions, coordinating teams during trial preparation for high-stakes, bet-the-company cases and handling the day-to-day management and counseling for fast-moving, enterprise-threatening disputes across various sectors. He has also served as first-chair trial counsel, appointed by the court, in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, and as court-appointed appellate counsel in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
Prior to joining Akin, Braden clerked for the Honorable Lawrence VanDyke of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the Honorable Reed O’Connor of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas. He earned his J.D. from SMU Dedman School of Law, where he served as an articles editor for the SMU International Law Review Association. Braden is currently the president of the Federalist Society’s Fort Worth Chapter and serves on the Northern District of Texas Bench Bar Host Committee.
