Biography
  • Complex commercial litigation trial lawyer defending and prosecuting high-stakes cases across industries.
  • Routinely represents clients in commercial disputes that threaten the existence of their businesses.
  • Practice also encompasses class actions and international regulatory disputes.

Brennan is a complex commercial trial lawyer who represents companies when disputes carry real business consequences. His practice centers on matters that affect core operations, major investments and reputation—situations where leadership needs clear advice, disciplined strategy and an advocate who can execute under pressure.

Brennan regularly handles high‑stakes commercial litigation for private and public companies across a range of industries, including financial services, manufacturing, hospitality, power generation and oil & gas, with significant experience in liquefied natural gas (LNG) matters. His work often involves disputes that put significant capital, long‑term projects or business continuity at risk.

His practice spans complex contractual and fiduciary disputes, consumer- and securities-related class actions, False Claims Act (FCA) matters, fraud, products liability and trade secret litigation. Brennan also maintains an international regulatory disputes practice, where he works directly with government regulators to achieve strategic resolutions—through negotiation when possible and trial when necessary.

Brennan brings a national practice and a business‑first approach to litigation. He is known for quickly mastering a client’s operations and objectives, then deploying litigation strategies designed not merely to win motions or cases, but to protect enterprise value and preserve business momentum. Clients rely on him for sound judgment, decisive trial strategy and the ability to remain steady and effective in high‑pressure environments.

Since joining Akin, Brennan has tried more than 10 cases to verdict, including matters handled while serving as a prosecutor with the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office as part of a lawyer‑on‑loan program. He has argued and prevailed in numerous state and federal court cases and is consistently entrusted with matters where results matter and experience counts.
