Biography
  • Practice focuses on regulatory and enforcement issues in the health care sector, with a focus in health care technology.
  • Counsels clients on matters involving privacy and data protection.
Jenna is an associate in the health care and life sciences practice. Jenna has a particular focus on matters involving guidance on food and drug law, privacy and data security, and health policy. She advises clients on a range of regulatory, enforcement and policy matters, including the False Claims Act and matters involving fraud investigations.

Jenna’s privacy and data security work has included assisting clients with issues arising under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH). She also advises clients on issues concerning interoperability, information blocking, and ONC Health IT Certification Program requirements.

Prior to joining the firm, Jenna was a technical services analyst at a health care software company, where she provided technical guidance regarding medical record software to hospital systems and clinical laboratories.

Jenna earned her J.D. from Harvard Law School, where she was a student fellow at the Petrie-Flom Center for Health Law Policy, Biotechnology and Bioethics. During law school, she was a clinical student in the Center for Health Law and Policy Innovation and served on the Harvard Journal of Law & Technology submissions committee.

Jenna interned with the Massachusetts Office of the Attorney General in the False Claims Division, conducting investigations for false claim cases in the commonwealth. Jenna earned her B.S. with distinction from the University of Wisconsin, where she studied chemistry with a concentration in computer science.

Jenna was a member of Akin's 2021 summer associate class.
