(New York) – Akin advised Pharmakon Advisors, LP, a leading investor in non-dilutive debt for the life sciences industry, and the BioPharma Credit funds in connection with a unitranche debt facility to finance the acquisition of Esperion Therapeutics, Inc., a commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company dedicated to developing and delivering innovative cardiometabolic and rare/orphan disease therapies, by funds managed by ARCHIMED, a leading investment firm focused exclusively on healthcare industries. The transaction is valued at up to approximately $1.1 billion in total equity value on a fully diluted basis, assuming full achievement of certain commercial-based milestones.
