Laura Lindsay represents clients in the formation, structuring and operation of private investment vehicles, including hedge funds, private equity funds and credit funds. She guides onshore and international fund managers through regulatory compliance obligations, including marketing practices and various regulatory matters.
Prior to rejoining Akin, Laura Lindsay worked as in-house counsel for a global multi-strategy investment firm. Before that, she was an associate in Akin’s corporate practice, focusing on debt finance, capital markets and mergers & acquisitions (M&A). She also represented onshore and offshore investment funds as borrowers in subscription credit facilities.
Before attending law school, Laura Lindsay was a producer at CNN for several on-air programs, including State of the Union, Inside Politics and The Situation Room.
Laura Lindsay received her J.D. magna cum laude from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, where she was a staff editor of the SMU Law Review and a recipient of the Hatton W. Sumners Foundation Scholarship. She completed her B.A. cum laude in journalism and mass communications from Washington and Lee University.
