Marshall is an accomplished litigator and trusted advisor who concentrates his practice on complex disputes, representing businesses and individuals in fraud, misappropriation, and contract actions, and public and private companies in high-exposure multistate class actions.
Marshall represents public and private entities – as both plaintiffs and defendants – in high-stakes, sensitive commercial disputes and government enforcement actions, and he has tried cases and arbitrated matters in forums across the country. For more than a decade, he has also successfully represented leading national and international companies in their most significant class actions, defeating class certification and obtaining dismissals at the pleading stage and on summary judgment.
Marshall also has a robust advisory practice, providing guidance and counsel to asset-management and financial-services clients relating to both event-driven investments spawned by national litigation and significant corporate transactions.
Marshall serves as the Local Practice Leader for the firm's litigation practice in Los Angeles.

- Representing Epic Systems Corporation and prominent health systems – including OCHIN, Reid Health, Trinity Health, and UMass Memorial Health – as plaintiffs in federal court in California, alleging widespread fraud in the defendants' collection and use of sensitive patient medical records and data.
- Representing Schlumberger Technology Corporation and Cameron International Corporation as plaintiffs in a complex federal action in Texas alleging trade secret misappropriation, contract, and fraudulent inducement claims arising from a dispute among entities in the lithium-extraction industry.
- Representing a San Francisco-based renewable energy company as cross-plaintiff and defendant in complex buyout and valuation dispute alleging breaches of contract and fiduciary duties arising from the improper diversion of business opportunities and the misappropriation of company data and proprietary information.
- Represented Yipit LLC (YipitData), a subsidiary of the Carlyle Group, in affirmative and defensive federal actions in New York alleging trade secret misappropriation and contract claims arising from the misappropriation of the company's sensitive proprietary data.
- Represented Sterling Construction Company, a major civil-construction company, as cross-plaintiff and defendant in complex partnership dispute.

- Defending 818 Tequila and Calabasas Beverage Company in putative nationwide class action in Florida federal court alleging fraudulent misrepresentations that touch on international and federal law.
- Defending Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling, L.L.C., a major manufacturer and distributor, in novel government enforcement action in California state court alleging claims arising from the recyclability of certain plastic products.
- Defeated alleged federal privacy claims asserted against telecommunications company and obtained complete defense award at arbitration.
- Defeated sprawling, multi-state putative class action filed in federal court in New York against SportsEngine, then owned by NBCUniversal, alleging fraud and contract claims arising from charges paid by consumers nationwide.
- Defended HP Inc. in several putative class actions alleging fraudulent misrepresentations in the labeling of business and consumerproducts and product defects.
- Defeated class certification in a fraud and false advertisingaction filed against Comcast in federal court in California challenging certain fees paid by Comcast subscribers.
- Represented co-founder of leading bitcoin derivatives trading platform in complex civil litigation filed in state and federal courts in California and New York.
