Following an eventful January, which saw the BIS Diffusion Rule escalate AI-related export controls and the recission of President Biden’s AI Executive Order, February and March had more action from U.S. states and other jurisdictions. Several states moved forward with regulations aimed at deepfakes, international leaders met for the third AI Summit, and tech companies continued their efforts to curb misuse by malicious actors.
