Sydney focuses her practice on the tax aspects of financial restructuring, mergers & acquisitions (M&A), private equity and debt finance.
Prior to joining Akin, Sydney was a tax associate at two other international law firms. She was previously a senior associate in international tax at KPMG then PwC, where she advised multinational clients on cross-border transactions.
Sydney earned her B.A. cum laude in English, with a concentration in women’s and gender studies, from the College of the Holy Cross, where she also studied abroad at the National University of Ireland, Galway. She completed her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, where she was an editor of the Journal of Corporate, Financial & Commercial Law and part of the Tax Law Association. She received her LL.M. in taxation from the Georgetown University Law Center.
