Akin Gump-Advised 7-Eleven/Speedway Deal Shortlisted by The Deal Awards

(Dallas) – Akin Gump is pleased to announce that a deal on which it advised, 7-Eleven’s acquisition of Speedway from Marathon Petroleum Corp., has been named a finalist in the Consumer, Retail, Food & Beverage - Deal (Large Cap) category of The Deal Awards. The firm, led by corporate partners Tom Yang and Nicholas Houpt, served as legal advisor to 7-Eleven in the transaction, the largest such deal of 2020.
The Deal Awards recognize “the deals and dealmakers shaping the Deal Economy.” All deals under consideration must have at least one party based in the United States.
Winners will be announced September 23.
