(Washington, D.C.) – Akin Gump is pleased to announce that a deal on which it advised, 7-Eleven’s acquisition of leading convenience store chain Speedway from Marathon Petroleum Corp., has been named “M&A Deal of the Year (Premium)” as part of the Asian Legal Business Japan Law Awards 2021. The firm, led by corporate partners Tom Yang and Nicholas Houpt, advised 7-Eleven in the matter.

The ALB Japan Law Awards recognize “the outstanding performance of private practitioners and in-house counsel in Japan and around the region.”
