  • 24 Apr 2025 (UK):

    The Akin Summary document has now been posted for this action.

    The Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation ("OFSI") extended the expiration date of General Licence INT/2023/3263556, 'GTLK Companies and their Subsidiaries – Insolvency related payments and activities' (the "GL").

  • 24 Apr 2025 (UK):

    ​The UK Government passed the Russia (Sanctions) (EU Exit) (Amendment) Regulations 2025 (the "Amendment Regulations"), which makes key amendments to the Russia (Sanctions) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019 (the "UK Russia Regulations") by introducing new and expanded trade restrictions in respect of, inter alia, chemicals, electronics, machinery, transfers of technology, and software, as well as certain synthetic diamonds processed in third countries. The amendments came into force on April 24, 2025.

    The Department for Business and Trade issued the UK General Trade Licence (the "GTL") in respect of Russian synthetic diamonds processed in third countries, pursuant to Regulation 65 of the Russia (Sanctions) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019 (the "Russia Regulations").

  • 22 Apr 2025 (UK):

    The Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation ("OFSI") published three new Russia sanctions FAQs (FAQs 146 – 148) relating to the UK designated persons ("UK DPs") Rosbank Public Joint Stock Company (“Rosbank”) and Bank Otkritie, which merged with TBank and BM-Bank respectively, and the impact of these mergers on OFSI licenses.

  • 17 Apr 2025 (Switzerland):

    The Akin Summary document has now been posted for this action.

    The Federal Department of Economic Affairs ("EAER") amended Annex 8 and 25 of the Ordinance on Measures Connected with the Situation in Ukraine (the "Ordinance") to include eight Russian media outlets for the purposes of imposing an advertising ban, as well as updating the sanctions listing for 158 individuals and organizations subject to asset freeze measures.
