- 06 Sep 2023 - Ruben Beltran Pedroza - Denial Order; No monetary penalty
On September 6, 2023, BIS issued a Denial Order against Ruben Beltran Pedroza ("Respondent") for a period of fiveyears in relation to violations of 18 U.S.C. § 371, the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (50 U.S.C § 1701, et seq.) (“IEEPA”) and 18 U.S.C. § 554. The order went into effect on the Respondent's date of conviction on November 3, 2022. Specifically, the Respondent was convicted of conspiracy to violate IEEPA, exporting and attempting to export, firearms and firearm parts from the United States to Mexico without the required license or written approval. The Respondent was sentenced to 34 months of confinement, three years of supervised release and a $100 special assessment. BIS did not impose any further monetary penalty on Respondent beyond the Court-imposed penalty.

On September 6, 2023, BIS issued a Denial Order against Jonathan Santiago ("Respondent") for a period of seven years in relation to violations of 18 U.S.C. § 371, the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (50 U.S.C § 1701, et seq.) (“IEEPA”) and 18 U.S.C. § 554. The order went into effect on the Respondent's date of conviction on November 3, 2022. Specifically, the Respondent was convicted of conspiracy to violate IEEPA, exporting and attempting to export, firearms and firearm parts from the United States to Mexico without the required license or written approval. The Respondent was sentenced to 42 months of confinement, three years of supervised release. BIS did not impose any further monetary penalty on Respondent beyond the Court-imposed penalty.
- 06 Sep 2023 - Peter Sotis - Denial Order; No monetary penalty
On September 6, 2023, BIS issued a Denial Order against Peter Sotis ("Respondent") for a period of ten years in relation to violations of 18 U.S.C. § 371, the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (50 U.S.C § 1701, et seq.) (“IEEPA”) and 18 U.S.C. § 554. The order went into effect on the Respondent's date of conviction on January 12, 2022. Specifically, the Respondent was convicted of conspiracy to violate IEEPA, exporting and attempting to export, and smuggling four (4) rEvo III rebreathers from the United States to Libya without the required license or written approval. The Respondent was sentenced to 57 months in prison, three years of supervised release, and a $300 special assessment. BIS did not impose any further monetary penalty on Respondent beyond the Court-imposed penalty.
- 06 Sep 2023 - Nicholas Ayala - Denial Order; No monetary penalty
On September 6, 2023, BIS issued a Denial Order against Nicholas Ayala ("Respondent") for a period of seven years in relation to violations of g 18 U.S.C. § 371, the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (50 U.S.C § 1701, et seq.) (“IEEPA”) and 18 U.S.C. § 554. The order went into effect on the Respondent's date of conviction on November 16, 2022. Specifically, the Respondent was convicted of conspiracy to violate IEEPA, exporting and attempting to export, and smuggling firearms and firearm components from the United States to Ecuador without the required license or written approval. The Respondent was sentenced to 36months in prison, three years of supervised release and a $400 special assessment. BIS did not impose any further monetary penalty on Respondent beyond the Court-imposed penalty.
