- 10 Jun 2023 - Samet Doyduk - No monetary penalty
On June 10, 2023, BIS issued a Denial Order against Samet Doyduk ("Respondent") for a period of 7 years in relation to violations of 18 U.S.C. § 371. The order went into effect on the Respondent's date of conviction on July 12, 2022. Specifically, the Respondent was convicted of conspiring to export firearm parts purchased in the United States to be shipped to Turkey and the Republic of Georgia. As a result of his conviction, the Court sentenced the Respondent to 15 months of imprisonment, three years of supervised release and a $100 special assessment. BIS did not impose any further monetary penalty on Respondent beyond the Court-imposed penalty.
- 10 Jun 2023 - Shaohua "Eric" Wang - No monetary penalty
On June 10, 2023, BIS issued a Denial Order against Shaohua "Eric" Wang ("Respondent") for a period of 10 years in relation to violations of 18 U.S.C. § 554(a). The order went into effect on the Respondent's date of conviction on February 3, 2020. Specifically, the Respondent was convicted of conspiring to willfully export from the United States to China, controlled military equipment and supplies for profit, without the required licenses. As a result of his conviction, the Court sentenced Wang to 46 months of confinement, three years of supervised release, $200 special assessment, and a $25,000 criminal fine. BIS did not impose any further monetary penalty on Respondent beyond the Court-imposed penalty.
- 10 Jun 2023 - Jorge Jesus Sigala - No monetary penalty
On June 10, 2023, BIS issued a Denial Order against Jorge Jesus Sigala ("Respondent") for a period of 5 years in relation to violations of 18 U.S.C. § 554(a). The order went into effect on the Respondent's date of conviction on April 22, 2021. Specifically, the Respondent was convicted of smuggling from the United States to Mexico various pistols. As a result of his conviction, the Court sentenced the Respondent to 12 months and one day of confinement, three years of supervised release, and a $100 special assessment. BIS did not impose any further monetary penalty on Respondent beyond the Court-imposed penalty.
- 10 Jun 2023 - Luis David Armendariz - No monetary penalty
On June 10, 2023, BIS issued a Denial Order against Luis David Armendariz ("Respondent") for a period of 10 years in relation to violations of 18 U.S.C. § 554(a). The order went into effect on the Respondent's date of conviction on May 11, 2022. Specifically, the Respondent was convicted of smuggling from the United States to Mexico approximately 19,000 rounds of assorted ammunition which is a controlled item as defined in the Commerce Control List, without the required license. The Respondent was sentenced to 37 months of confinement, two years of supervised release, and a $100 assessment. BIS did not impose any further monetary penalty on Respondent beyond the Court-imposed penalty.
- 10 Jun 2023 - Patrick Lee Sousa - No monetary penalty
On June 10, 2023, BIS issued a Denial Order against Patrick Lee Sousa ("Respondent") for a period of 10 years in relation to violations of 18 U.S.C. § 371. The order went into effect on the Respondent's date of conviction on October 29, 2021. Specifically, the Respondent was convicted of conspiring to knowingly, intentionally, and willfully engage in the business of dealing firearms without a license. The Respondent was sentenced to 57 months of confinement, three years of supervised release, and a $300 assessment. BIS did not impose any further monetary penalty on Respondent beyond the Court-imposed penalty.

On June 10, 2023, BIS issued a Denial Order against Khalid Jarrah ("Respondent") for a period of 10 years in relation to violations of 18 U.S.C. § 371. The order went into effect on the Respondent's date of conviction on August 11, 2021. Specifically, the Respondent was convicted of conspiring to knowingly, intentionally, and willfully engage in the business of dealing firearms without a license. The Respondent was sentenced to 15 months of confinement, three years of supervised release, and a $100 assessment. BIS did not impose any further monetary penalty on Respondent beyond the Court-imposed penalty.
- 10 Jun 2023 - Eli Espinoza - No monetary penalty
On June 10, 2023, BIS issued a Denial Order against Eli Espinoza ("Respondent") for a period of 10 years in relation to violations of 18 U.S.C. § 554(a). The order went into effect on the Respondent's date of conviction on December 14, 2020. Specifically, the Respondent was convicted of smuggling and attempting to smuggle from the United States to Mexico firearms components to include, front trunnion, AK bolt body, upper hand guard and gad tube, rear sight block, recoil spring rear guide, dust cover, trigger for semi-automatic rifle, bolt carrier assembly and bolt catch, without a license or written approval from the US Department of Commerce. As a result of his conviction, the Court sentenced Espinoza to 63 months of confinement, three years of supervised release, and a $100 assessment. BIS did not impose any further monetary penalty on Respondent beyond the Court-imposed penalty.
